Welcome to Kents Bank Station Library

Our open day last October: cause for celebration! This is the cosy Reading Room complete with stove

Our unique ‘Railway Library’, located in a working station on the scenic Lancaster to Barrow Line, is now available for use. It is primarily a reference library, free and open everty Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 11.00 to 16.00 – or by appointment. We also have a growing lending section which people can use ‘in person’, also free of charge. We have a large number of books for sale (mostly donations which duplicate existing stock – keep ’em coming!)…

We also have a growing stock of model railway equipment for sale.

We have regular exhibitions – over the summer we ran a small exhibition on ‘Holidays by Train’ featuring books, posters and handbills. Our ‘Mutual Improvement Class’ (MIC) is usually on the second Wednesday at 14.00 with informal but interesting talks. See ‘events’.

Our ‘pop-up station buffet’ offers compliementary teas and coffee. Donations welcome.

Kents Bank is a great place to visit, on the north shore of Morecambe Bay. It’s a pleasant walk, or quick train ride, from Grange-over-Sands. Next door to Station House is the excellent Beach Hut Gallery. The station gardens are a delight at any time of year, cared for by Friends of Kents Bank Station and Foreshore.
