The Beach Hut Gallery, just next door, is our partner and neighbour. It’s managed by The Beach Hut Co-operative, many of whose directors are also involved with the Library.. We’re all volunteers.
The Gallery exhibits and sells top-quality art work by local artists and writers. We have regular ‘featured artists’ (currently Ben McLeod) but we also stock work by around a dozen artists from the surrounding area, including Lara Clahan, Fran Brown, Martin Copley, Clyde Olliver, Steve Fairhurst and several more.
We sell original art work, including paintings and ceramics, prints, cards and more. We have a growing book section, both new and good-qualtiy second-hand books on art and art history, local history and landscape. We welcome donations of good quality used books in those areas.
We also offer a picture framing service – it’s good quality and value for money.
Our longer-term aim is to provide a small cafe with improved customer toilet facilities.
Pop in and see what we’ve got to offer: we’re open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (with the Library) from 11.oo to 16.00.
