Gallery on the station features exciting work by locally-based artist Ben McLeod
Ben McLeod is a highly accomplished landscape painter based at Halecat House, near Grange-over-Sands. The Beach Hut Gallery, at Kents Bank railway station on the beautiful Kent Estuary, is hosting an exhibition of his work, starting in early August.
The theme of the exhibition is ‘Sea and Sand’ with landscape paintings from the Kent Estuary to Iona.
โItโs great to be exhibiting at The Beach Hut Gallery,โ said Ben, โoverlooking what was the original inspiration for my landscape painting.โ
Dr Paul Salveson, manager of the gallery and adjoining station library said “We’re delighted to be showcasing Ben’s work. Our mission is to promote outstanding work by locally-based artists such as Ben. We’re a small gallery but packed with good quality art as well as books about the area and a section on railways around the world.”
The gallery is holding a private viewing on Wednesday August 14th, at 17.00. Media representatives are very welcome to join us for drinks, nibbles and the opportunity to hear about Ben’s work – from the artist himself.
You will also be very welcome to view all the other exhibits, as well as our selection of cards and books. Ben’s work, and that of other artists, will be for sale.
If you can’t join us for the private view, we’d love to see you when the gallery is open, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and bank holidays, from 11.00 to 16.00. The exhibition of Ben’s work starts on Friday August 9th and will continue to the end of October.
Ends.
